We Keep Finding New Ways to Improve

Why did we continue to pay Al Levi for ongoing consulting three years after we first started working together?

Because I knew how easy it would be to fall back into our old bad habits. You know what I mean? We used to think we were too busy to meet, but Al taught us that the busier we are, the more important it is to meet and stay in synch.

In our rush to deal with the daily “fires” at work it seems impossible, or at least improbable, that we’d ever find the time for the Senior Management team to meet regularly to discuss the bigger picture, let alone crank out the projects that have made all the difference at Lowry. But my team and I know that Al will be calling and miraculously we work on the most important projects so we’re ready to meet and report on our progress. It’s not that I couldn’t make my people come to a meeting and work on projects. Rather, it’s my knowing how easy it is to postpone them and get distracted by the day-to-day struggles. We find it very helpful to hear from an outside person with industry knowledge and someone who I know has sat in my chair at his own business and understands the challenges.

I liked the feeling of knowing that after three years of working together, Lowry was still finding new ways for Al to help us improve the business.
